Thought this might be of interest...a couple last minute details from Seth Earnest (Asia's Hope Project Manager) regarding the trip. He refers to "John" who is the Executive Director of Asia's Hope. John is already in India and will meet our team when we land.
Cash: keep cash safe, and never pack cash into checked luggage. Always have cash in bags that you will keep with you. Same for medicine and anything crucial to survival (glasses/contacts, medications, some extra clothes layers and underwear in case checked bags are lost/late, etc.). John often asks the hotel to keep his cash in the hotel safe. We've never had a problem with this. It's up to you what's best with your cash.
John wrote me this morning and said it's actually pretty chilly where he is currently (38 degrees fahrenheit at night), so plan a few extra layers accordingly in the event it gets chilly.

John has expressed that there are a large number of hucksters trying to get Westerners to do things, e.g. "You cannot take that taxi to the Hotel Classic Diplomat. You must take mine," or "That's the wrong line for train tickets, you must come to my line," when John very well knew the correct line to be in. Similar sorts of things. Also, lines and waiting areas are always full and crazy. Some people in India will cut in front of you and generally crowd closely, so we have to be a bit more aggressive than what we're used to in the U.S.
