We visited a Bhutanese Christian training center led by Pastor Benjamin. Since public preaching of Christianity is prohibited in Bhutan, this center is located just across the border in Jaigon. There were 18 young men and women from different areas of Bhutan in this session. Many of them are recent converts and hungry to learn and grow in their faith. Pastor Benjamin asked each of us to speak for 30 minutes to teach and encourage them in their faith. It's humbling to to see their zeal for the Lord and to know the possible hardship and persecution they face for their faith when they return to their towns and villages. Such a dramatic contrast in comparison to the dispassionate faith of many American Christians...my self included.

Looks like I should have sent an IU shirt along with you!!
Wow, what an incredible sunrise. It's been great reading your blog and getting a look at some of what Asia's Hope is accomplishing. So interesting as well to hear about the Bhutanses men and women. I have to imagine that alone made the entire trip and all the white-knuckled road trips worth every new gray hair.
