Friday morning we left for Darjeeling. It's about 50 miles but takes 2 and a half hours due to traversing the mountains.
While on the way we had a flat tire on our taxi-no problem these guys are like NASCAR pit crew! Here are a couple of bystanders.
Darjeeling is famous for their tea growing estates-similar to Napa Valley wines. It's also known for the base camps for those who climb the Himalyas-Mt Everest.
On the way we stopped at a Christian training center where Nandu and John spoke to about 50 young men and women who stay for 40 days of Bible training and then will return to their villages in Nepal, India and Bhutan to spread the gospel. Their commitment and sacrifice is inspiring!
After a couple hours we were back on the road. Stopped to take in a view of the Teesta river.
